بهذه الكلمات، ترفض الكاتبة والشاعرة من غزة، بيسان نتيل، أن تُختصر حكايتها وأطفال غزة بالألم والصدمة.

Palestinian Children’s Narratives from Within a Contemporary Genocide

An open dialogue with the authors of the article “Against Frames of Trauma and Testimony: Palestinian Children’s Narratives from Within a Contemporary Genocide"

"I refuse my story now. This doesn’t mean I won’t narrate it to you in the darkness of the days and the darkness of the tents. I refuse my story that is not me. It was forced on me, but this doesn’t mean I am not living it … And I say, it is my story."
With these words, Bisan Nateel, a writer and poet from Gaza, refuses to reduce her story and the stories of Gaza's children to pain and trauma.

The Palestine-Global Mental Health Network invites you to an open dialogue via Zoom with the authors of the article “Against Frames of Trauma and Testimony: Palestinian Children’s Narratives from Within a Contemporary Genocide".
We will discuss: How do the children of Gaza deconstruct the concept of "trauma"? And how do they create meaning and life from within the genocide?

Participants: Dr. Rania Jawad, Dr. Sama Dawani, and writer Bisan Nateel.
